Ideas for workshop proposals:
The 6th Ward Garden Park is a wonderful place to incorporate nutrition education with hands-on learning and fun! One of our goals is to create a healthier community by increasing access to nutritious foods, so if you have a passion for nutrition, we would love to have you host a workshop or class at the park.
We are committed to growing food in a way that also nurtures the environment. Come and share your permaculture/sustainable gardening expertise with the community!
Potential topics include:
- Soil science
- How plants communicate with/respond to their environment
- Edible forest gardening
- Gardening by the season
- Native plant identification
- We are open to suggestions!
Bring your class to the park for an engaging, hands-on, and exciting field trip! We have developed several educational programs that meet state education standards, and can easily be tailored to any age. You are also welcome to use your own curriculum!
